I have received a bunch of photographs of the Silverstein Brass holiday brass band from Ken
Norman and Cathy Strege.  I have begun posting them and I will continue to do so as time
permits.  For those of you who don't know or remember, Silverstein Brass first performed in 1973
when it entertained Christmas shoppers on Monument Square in downtown Racine.  It was
composed mainly of musicians from Racine's various drum and bugle corps, especially from the
Kilties. Ken Norman was their musical director.  For about thirty years Silverstein Brass "toured"
Racine each Saturday before Christmas entertaining holiday shoppers at various locations
throughout Racine. You can relive this holiday tradition at  Silverstein Brass
