LEFT:  A Janesville Gazette photo of the Kilties from July, 1953.   The photo caption read, "Edgerton
provided a great throng of citizens from all parts of Wisconsin with a colorful parade Sunday, in
keeping with the high standards set by other events of its great 8-day Centennial Celebration.   At top
- The Lively stepping Racine Kilties Band was one of the most outstanding of the 15 musical units in
the parade."
ABOVE PHOTO:  Sept., 1953, Racine Journal Times photo entitled "Kissing The Boys Good-Luck".   
The caption read, "When 65 members of the YMCA Kilties Drum and Bugle Corps started boarding the
Chicago and North Western train Wednesday afternoon on its way to the 'Dream Contest' at Jersey City,
N.J., Mrs. Everett Hansen, president of the Parents' Club, and other mothers were on hand to kiss the
boys good-bye and wish them luck."  


PHOTO BELOW:   A Thursday, August 6, 1953, Milwaukee Sentinel newspaper photo of the Racine
YMCA Kilties at the VFW Nationals in Milwaukee.   A crowd of just over 25,000 people turned out for this
finals contest that saw the Kilties place fourth and be the only Midwest corps to make finals!!!
PHOTO BELOW:  This photo, along with a very nice article
about Kiltie HOF-er Joe Teska and his involvement with the
Kilties, appeared in the Employers Mutual monthly magazine
sometime in the fall of 1953.   Left to right are, Bob Teska, Joe
Teska, and Bob Cormack, Kiltie Drum Major.
BELOW:  This photo was taken on 8-30-1953 outside of the YMCA
in St. Louis, MO where the Kilties stayed while at the 1953 American
Legion National Championship.  Pictured in this photo left to right
are:  Artie Grebetz, Jerry Miller, Bill Albright and Bob Teska.
