ABOVE: In the middle of the 1950's the Racine Kilties Drum and Bugle Corps followed the trend of having a "Rookie" or a
training drum and bugle corps. The members consisted of "Rookies" and others who needed more training before they could
become regulars in the Racine Kilties Drum and Bugle Corps. The above photo shows the 1957 Racine Kilties "Rookie" Drum
and Bugle Corps.
The Racine Kiltie Kadets Drum and Bugle Corps was organized in the fall of 1958 and became the training and feeder drum and
bugle corps for boys 10 - 13 years of age for the Racine Kilties Drum and Bugle Corps. Organizing the Racine Kiltie Kadets
Drum and Bugle Corps allowed the Racine Kilties to raise their membership age limits from 10 - 18 year olds to 14 - 21 year olds
which finally put them on a par age-wise with their open class competitors.
