BELOW:  This photo appeared in the July 3, 1963 edition of the Racine Journal Times.   The
caption stated, "Kiltie drummers, who thrive on precision use Pershing Park as a practice
field as they work out for the Goodwill Celebration.   From left are Ronald Sorensen, 20, of
2424 Taylor Ave.; John Pankow, 16, of 2613 E. Cresent St,;   Thomas Sorensen, 15, of
2424 Taylor Ave., and Charles Johnson, 18, of 3422 Victory Ave."
ABOVE:  This photo appeared in the August, 1963 issue of
Pageantry Life magazine.
REGARDING THE TOP & BOTTOM PHOTOS:  I talked to Larry Karsch about why
they slept outside as the turn-out sheet stated that the Kilties would spend the night
at the YMCA in Oshkosh.   Larry told me that it was just too hot to sleep in the YMCA,
so some Kilties slept outside in the park instead.
ABOVE:  This photo appeared in the July 5, 1963 edition of the Racine
Journal Times.   The caption stated, "The parade (Racine's 4th of July
parade) featured a number of high-stepping, baton-twirling drum
majorettes.   Following behind the majorettes was the YMCA Kilties
Drum and Bugle Corps, which captured third place Wednesday night in
competition at Horlick Field."
