ABOVE PHOTO:  This photo appeared in
the March, 1965 issue of Drum Corps World
magazine.

Photo caption read, "Howard Johnson, or
Howie to the boys, served as soprano bugler
with the corps for three years.   Living in
South Milwaukee, a distance of 16 miles
from Racine, so each practice meant a
round trip of 32 miles, but Howie didn't miss
unless illnes forced him to stay home.

The summer of 1964, the last year with the
corps, he was co-drum major for a time and
finished the season as co-color guard
sargeant.   He is now 21 years of age, so he
can no longer be with the corps."

at finals of the 1965 VFW Nationals inside the
McCormick Place in Chicago, Ill.
ABOVE PHOTO:  This photo appeared in the
March, 1965, issue of Drum Corps World and
its caption stated, "Jack Pankow of 2613 East
Crescent Street, Racine, Wisc., who is the
National All-American Individual Snare Drum
Champion and the Slingerland snare drum
which was presented to him as a prize."
