LEFT:  This photo appeared in the Monday,
01-25-71, edition of the Racine Journal-Times
and was entitled, "Always Marching Time".   
The caption ststed, " The outdoors in
mid-January were the rehearsla scene for the
Racine Kilties Color Guard Sunday as they
prepared for competition in the second
annual 'Precision in Motion' show sponsored
by the Liberty Bells at Memorial Hall.   Among
the 20 units in the color guard circiut
competition were the Racine Kilties, above,
who placed first with a 79.5.   Second place
went to the Imperials of St. Patrick's,
Milwaukee, with 77.95 while the Lancers of
Chicago were third with 71.9.   Memorial Hall
exhibitions included the Kilties small corps."



LEFT:  This photo appeared in the Monday,
03-15-71 edition of the Racine Journal-Times
and was entitled "Flags Unfurled".   Its caption
read, "The Imperials of St. Patrick's from
Milwaukee topped a field of 17 color guards in
competition here Sunday at St. Rita's school.  
 Racine's best finisher was the Kilties, who
placed third, with a score of 80.0.   In second
spot were the Lancers of Chicago, 81.45.   
The program, called "Flags Unfurled on
Parade," was sponsored by the Citations
Color Guard and featured units from
Wisconsin and Illinois."
ABOVE: The Kilties' Color Guard took first place in the 1971
Badgerland Association Color Guard Championships held at
Kenosha Tremper's High School Gymnasium against 15 other
open class color guards.   This photo appeared in the April,
1971, issue of Drum Corps America magazine.

ABOVE:  Scott Poulsen, left, and Russ Epps were the two Kiltie
Drum Majors for 1971.   This photo was taken on Labor Day,
1971, as Scott proudly leads the Kilties in his last parade.   This
photo and a two page article about Scott Poulsen appeared in the
October, 1971, issue of Drum Corps America magazine.
