ABOVE:  The Racine Veteran's Firing Squad marching off in Racine's 2007 Memorial Day parade.  What most, if not all, of
the current Racine Kilties (seen in the background waiting to march in the parade) probably don't realize is that the Racine
Veteran's Firing Squad Captain, above middle with the pistol holster, is Harald Kahlert, the Racine Kilties first drum major
from way back in 1936.  Harald was an original member of the Kilties.  Harald joined the Kilties when they organized in the
fall of 1934 as a snare drummer.  Harald told me that he thought that the reason he was made the Kilties first drum major
was because he was very tall.
BELOW:  Kiltie Alumni Dan Fornero was the featured guest trumpet soloist with Racine's Belle City Brassworks brass band at
a concert held on Sunday, November 11, 2007.  This article appeared in the Racine Journal Times, Thursday, November 08,
2007.  The Belle City Brassworks was founded by Kiltie Jr. Corps Alumni Gary King and Ken Norman in the late 1980's.
